Plant Scientists on the Lindner Middle for Analysis and Conservation of Endangered Wildlife (CREW) have been working to revive Trifolium kentuckiense, a critically imperiled clover species also referred to as the Kentucky Clover. CREW is presently partnered with the Zoo’s Bowyer Farm, Kentucky Nature Preserves, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to help in restoring populations of this endangered plant.
Earlier this month, the Plant Division despatched 179 tissue culture-grown vegetation to Bowyer. CREW has 21 totally different genetic traces of this species in tradition and gives vegetation from every line to make sure a wholesome inhabitants could be outplanted. The employees at Bowyer will proceed to nurture them till are giant sufficient for outplanting. Seeds may also be collected for banking in CREW’s CryoBioBank.
